Currently most conversations post high school are about courses, universities, freedom, and new opportunities. But there is one topic that is rarely discussed openly and that is mental health.
Campus can be a really exciting chapter, but it also comes with new challenges. For many students, it will be the first time living away from home, managing their own time, dealing with academic pressure, building new friendships and basically figuring out their future. And sometimes transition periods can feel overwhelming.
The truth is especially with the cut off points and uncertainty about kuccps placement, many are battling with self doubt, stress, and pressure to succeed in their life paths . It is important to note that taking care of your mental health is just as important as doing well academically.
Having an understanding of this before joining campus can help students build healthier habits like exercise, breathing techniques when overwhelmed and seek support when needed so as to create a balanced campus experience.
Do students open up enough on their struggles and if not what could be the reasons?
