Should I pick what I'm good at or what I actually want?

My teachers want me to be a doctor. My parents have already told my relatives. And I genuinely hate biology.
I got A minus in biology and chemistry. Like proper good marks. My teachers keep saying I should do medicine or pharmacy. My parents are already telling relatives I'm going to be a doctor.
But guys, I hate those subjects. I only did well because I studied like crazy. The thought of spending 6 more years studying medicine makes me want to cry.
What I actually love is software engineering. I got B+ in Computer studies but nobody cares about that. My dad says IT people don't make money. My mom says I'm wasting my talent.
So now I'm stuck. Do I pick medicine because I'm good at it even though I hate it? Or do I pick something I love but I'm not the best at?
And before anyone says follow your passion, my passion won't pay school fees. My passion won't put food on the table.
But also won't I be miserable doing something I hate for the next 40 years?
How did you guys choose? Did you go with what you're good at or what you wanted? And if you picked based on grades not interest, do you regret it?
I need real answers because portal is opening next month and I'm panicking.
