Is anyone else too broke to even afford fare back home for weekends?

Weekend? Home is 70-100 shillings away from my university. I have to budget my 3000 a month to feed my transport and food needs at campus. Travelling daily is also very tiresome especially with the big population in town. Who else is becoming a permanent hostel resident by necessity?
