Is it just me or are the lecturers too fast to even ask questions?

It’s definitely not just you! I remember sitting in my first few lectures just staring at the projector screen, completely lost because the lecturer had already moved to the next slide. They go through the content so quickly, and by the time I process one concept, they’re already three points ahead. I used to feel dumb for not keeping up or asking questions, especially when others around me seemed to be writing nonstop. It made me second-guess myself a lot and I started avoiding asking anything because I didn’t want to seem like I was slowing the class down.
What helped me eventually was accepting that I wasn’t alone and starting to record lectures (when allowed), or just jotting down timestamps and confusing points to review later. I also made friends with a few classmates who were good at taking notes, so we’d combine our notes and help each other out. I learned to go through the material before class so I wasn’t hearing it for the first time during the lecture. It's still fast-paced, but now I don’t feel as overwhelmed—and I’ve gotten more confident in asking questions after class or during group discussions instead.
