Respect hostel staff. They know more about survival than most students.

You probably didn’t notice them at first. The woman who mopped the hall before sunrise. The security guard who nodded at you every night. The warden who looked stern but always had a cup of strong tea in hand. But one day, you locked yourself out. Or lost something. Or got sick and had no idea what to do. And they came through. Gave you a spare key. Showed you a shortcut. Walked you to the clinic. You started greeting them properly after that. Maybe even shared jokes. Over time, you realized these weren’t just staff. They were the silent guardians of hostel life. They’d seen hundreds of students come and go. And if you listened closely, they had wisdom textbooks couldn’t teach.
