. I saw my roommate steal my milk but I don’t want drama. What would you do?

I’ve actually been in the same awkward situation. I noticed my milk kept getting less and less even though I hadn’t used it. One day, I walked into the room and literally saw my roommate pouring it into their cereal. I froze—I didn’t want to create tension or seem petty over milk, so I just acted like I didn’t see. But inside, it really bothered me. I started feeling uncomfortable in my own space, second-guessing if I should start hiding my stuff or confronting them.
Eventually, I realized avoiding the issue was just making me resentful. So I brought it up casually one evening—not in an accusing way, but more like, “Hey, I noticed the milk has been going down quicker than usual. Could we talk about it?” To my surprise, they admitted it and said they didn’t think I’d notice. We agreed to label our food and share only when we ask. It was tense for a moment, but I learned that quiet honesty saves way more drama than silent frustration.
